Let me make a small effort to put across who I am and what my journey has been.

My very first memory of using makeup was sneakily pulling out my mum’s kajal from her cupboard, applying it and being in awe of how it emphasized my eyes. I also remember how I fancied using her lipsticks, all through my teens.

My first ever purchase was a Lakme eyeliner worth Rs. 60 which I bought with my pocket money. Such a thrill it was to wear it during Durga Puja! (I grew up in Kolkata, India)

It was only when I joined the aviation industry in 2006 at a young age of 20, that I was exposed to makeup and grooming. It was then that I realized the immense potential of makeup as a confidence-boosting tool. I realized that if makeup is used the right way, it enhances one’s beauty rather than masking it.

One of my early endeavours has been to get over my insecurity about my complexion. This was a turning point as I understood the importance of owning one’s uniqueness and identity.

It was only later that I realized how much of a great impact this whole approach has had on my profession, when I got into makeup in the year 2011.

I trained under Puneet B Saini, who till this day inspires me in so many ways. Be it her vision, her execution or work ethics. I look up to my mentor.

I have always believed in sticking to the natural complexion of my clients as it is unique to them and should be embraced with love. The client’s confidence beams through when they are comfortable, with the way they look. It is especially important to understand the client’s taste in makeup and help their vision to become a reality. Hence my products includes some of the most well-known global beauty brands, and I believe in working with natural beauty.

It is very important for me to connect to my clients, as with a good rapport comes comfort, thus helping in achieving the end goal of making my clients look their best.

Everyone and everything thrives on love and that can happen only when there is humility and mutual respect. Be it in terms of time or effort.
